WOOHOO!!!

JOSH GROBAN's official website has just confirmed his Concert in MANILA (PHILIPPINES) this coming October 17 and 18. This is after all of his USA and Australian Tour. The Manila concert is a two-day event. There've been rumors that the first day (the 17th) is an invitation-only concert; while the second (18th) is open for the public. I have no idea, however, if it's true or not.

If you think about it, the PICC Plenary Hall has limited seating... and this is JOSH GROBAN! The tickets must really be soaring high! I still don't know where to buy the tickets, though... and how much. But I'll try to keep posted.

ACCCKKK! I can't believe the Philippines is his only stop-over in ASIA! Oh wow I can still hear his amazing voice when my sister and I watched his concert in ARIZONA last March 25. I have no doubt those who'll be able to watch it will say it's definitely worth it. These were our tickets:

I can still hear myself scream when during the concert he sang "AWAKE" almost at the end of the show. Of course, I have a copy of that song at my imeem account:

"Awake"

A beautiful and blinding morning
The world outside begins to breathe
See clouds arriving without warning
I need you here to shelter me

And I know that only time will tell us how
To carry on without each other

So keep me awake to memorize you
Give me more time to feel this way
We can't stay like this forever
But I can have you next to me today

If I could make these moments endless
If I could stop the winds of change
If we just keep our eyes wide open
Then everything would stay the same

And I know that only time will tell me how
We'll carry on without each other

So keep me awake for every moment
Give us more time to be this way
We can't stay like this forever
But I can have you next to me today

We'll let tomorrow wait, you're here, right now, with me
All my fears just fall away, when you are all I see

We can't stay like this forever
But I have you here today

And I will remember
Oh I will remember
Remember all the love we shared today

As promised, I've compiled some sample music from each performer at this year's Asia Song Festival to be held at Seoul Korea in September (please refer to my last post for other details). I was actually hoping to make a video playlist but it was hard to find music videos of ALL performers in one site so I just settled to sample music.

As expected of top artists from each country, I did find a lot of good songs from each but I had to choose just one to be put in the playlist so as not to bombard our readers. So if you want to search for more songs/music you may go to ESNIPS.com or other music sites (PLEASE NOTE, however, that if you REALLY want to SUPPORT your favorite artists it's BETTER to BUY their CDs from reputable sites)

It might be great if you play the music playlist while browsing the rest of the post.

NOTE: Even if TACKEY & TSUBASA (Japanese duo) has still yet to be confirmed I still added one of their songs to the playlist. I also added a sample of BARBIE ALMALBIS song to complete the list. If you want to hear more samples of BARBIE's music, just browse my last post.

Although... I'm still a little indecisive about having Barbie as our rep. I do acknowledge the fact that no one can deny she's got talent. She's a good composer.. great soothing voice.. natural talent with musical instruments.. plus, she's also pretty <-- if that's a factor(?). But maybe.. just maybe.. having BAMBOO or the other top bands we have right now could create a bigger buzz and might (wishful thinking?) compete with the *insane fanaticism* involved with having the boybands of Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand (and possibly Japan too) compete with each other in the next ASFestival in September 22 of this year.

But I guess that sending a band is a WAY costly than sending just one performer... and especially, too, that the performer herself/himself will be shelling out her/his own money to be able to go to and perform at the ASFestival. So I guess no one could blame the other popular bands to ignore or pass such international events. I applaud, then, Barbie's initiative to be our representative as the ASFestival. A BIG THANKS, to you!

I guess we'll be keeping a close eye on videos of the ASFestival that shall be popping up at Youtube/etc around September. I'll also be stalking popular ASIAN forums about any news of the ASFestival and hopefully get some good video clips. FYI: it was really hard to find any video of KITCHIE NADAL's performance at last year's ASFestival. Maybe now we'll be more lucky.

Oh, here's one of the earlier news reports about the 2007 ASIA SONG FESTIVAL if you're interested.... and if you're interested in finding some SAMPLE MUSIC of the artists performing at the ASFestival just browse along the bottom of this post (after the news article). I tried to find out who's who and also find some links to their music.

Top Asian Stars at Asia Song Festival
By Seo Dong-shin
Staff Reporter, The Korea Times
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/art/2007/08/201_8343.html

The annual Asia Song Festival will bring 14 top stars from nine Asian countries to
Seoul this year.

"The 2007 Asia Song Festival," scheduled for Sept. 22 at Sangam World Cup Stadium, will feature popular South Korean boy bands such as SG Wannabe and Super Junior.

Pretty boys will fly into Seoul en masse from other countries although the Japanese line-up has yet to be confirmed. "Golf & Mike," idol duo hailing from Thailand, also enjoys popularity in Japan. Vietnamese singer Lam Truong once sang a Vietnamese
version of "Forever," a song from "Korean Wave'' star Ahn Jae-wook. Peter Pan, meanwhile, is a six-piece pop rock band from Indonesia.

At the festival, fans will also be able to compare female pop stars from five countries. From South Korea, actress and singer Lee Hyo-lee, who mainly sells her sexy image, will perform on stage. From mainland China comes Vicki Zhao, also a popular actress and singer who won the "Favorite Artist Mainland China'' from 2006 MTV Asia Awards. A-mei, the "pride of Taiwan,'' has been a pop diva in the Mandarin-speaking world for more than a decade. Gigi Leung is a veteran Hong Kong actress and singer, while Barbie Almalbiz, a songwriter and folk rock singer from the Philippines, enjoys huge popularity in her home country.

JVKV, better known as F4, are four Taiwanese heartthrobs also well-known in South Korea for the hit Taiwanese drama series "Meteor Garden,'' which is based on a popular Japanese manga and aired here on a cable channel. They will appear as special guests during the show.

Tickets for the festival are FREE and can be downloaded from early September at the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) website, which has been organizing the event for the last three years. For more information, visit http://www.kofice.or.kr/ .

... Okay, okay... For the meantime, I'll probably just list the artists/groups who'll be performing at the next ASIAN SONG FESTIVAL (while I'm searching samples of their music and music videos). And I'll just post them in my next blog post.

South Korea- SG Wannabe + Super Junior + Lee Hyo-lee
Japan- Tackey & Tsubasa(?) -- earlier reports said this but it hasn't been confirmed
China (mainland)- Vicki Zhao
Taiwan - A-mei
Hongkong- Gigi Leung
Thailand- Golf & Mike
Vietnam- Lam Truong
Indonesia- Peter Pan
Philippines- Barbie Almalbis

** Hmm, now that I think about it, is the list complete? 'cause I don't exactly see a complete list of Asian countries.

... I have subbed my first video!!! WOOHOO {pat on the back}... hmm, that doesn't feel enough .. {another pat on the back then}...

Well it's actually a music video and the subs are actually the tagalog/filipino lyrics of the song PANALANGIN by MOONSTAR88. I didn't sub it in english 'cause I was struggling with wanting to promote the Filipino language (ME being in a GO-PINOY and GO-Philippines attitude lately) and knowing that translating the lyrics to english would take a lot more time.

My other goal (aside from pure curiosity about how people really do it) is actually trying out several video-editing software programs like SONY VEGAS 7.0 and CYBERLINK POWERDIRECTOR 6.0. I couldn't get a firm grip on the Vegas7.0 yet so the PowerDirector was my main tool for this project, AND still is as of the present. It took a few trials, and I was finally able to sub and publish the video as well as to upload and promote it successfully over my IMEEM and VEOH account.

Wanna see it? Here's MOONSTAR88's PANALANGIN!

Want to have your own copy? Come and DL it at VEOH (http://www.veoh.com/videos/v956554k7jNzKS5):

... I feel like jumping and leaping across tables and whatever... just like JET LI's new commercial endorsement of the Philippines' SAN MIGUEL BEER. Have you seen it yet?

Amazing, isn't it? I didn't know JET LI went to the Philippines to shoot the San Miguel Beer commercial. Had I known about it, I would have tried to stalk him (LOLZ, just joking..)

Imagine my surprise and excitement when I was leisurely browsing across sky cable channels when I saw JET leaping through the screen and grabbing a handful of SMBeers. ARRGH!!! JET LI... how I have loved you (FANgirl-ING here... please pardon for a bit) ever since I saw one of your early ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA movies! .. especially when I saw your bloopers at the end of each movie!!! WAAAAHHH what a cute smile you have during such bloopers! (OKAY, fanGIRL-ing stops HERE! -- hahaha)

So here's a YT link for those who have not seen it yet:

... where did my passion for blogging go? ... i dunno.. i think my mind races too much against time and interest..

... anyway, i just wanted to share these great lines from the short JDORAMA (Japanese drama) with my favorite KAMENASHI KAZUYA as the leading character named YUUKI

Damn, I really love his eyebrows!!! Arrgh!!

"To comprehend the value of one year,
just ask the students who failed their entrance exams..

To comprehend the value of one month,
just ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby..

To comprehend the value of one week,
just ask the editor of a weekly newspaper..

To comprehend the value of one hour,
just ask the lovers who are waiting to meet..

To comprehend the value of one minute,
just ask the people who missed their stop on the train..

To comprehend the value of one second,
just ask the person who managed to avoid an accident just in time..

To comprehend the value of one tenth of a second,
just ask the person who ended up with a silver medal at the Olympics..

The hands of the clock will continue ticking. Therefore, treasure every moment you have and treat today as the utmost gift you'll have."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

In case you are wondering, the JDORAMA is called YUUKI (aptly named after the leading character). It is supposedly based on a true story - which is disturbingly unfortunate because it's a real tear-jerker. The story revolves around the life of a 23-year old man who struggled with an illness while telling a story of friendship that spans ages.

I found the jdorama because of KAMENASHI KAZUYA, of course. And YES, aside from KAME OGURI SHUN is also part of the cast (although his role is a bit dissapointing a.k.a. just a small role )

Oh, by the way if you're not used to jdoramas you might find that YUUKI is short, fast-paced, and not-too-heavy-on-the-drama... typical of most jdoramas.

*** I found it at VEOH but you can also find it at CRUNCHYROLL.
